Description
A night in Milan in 2000, during Leeds United’s run to the Champions League semi-finals, where a young side announced itself on the European stage. Facing AC Milan at the San Siro, Leeds earned a 1-1 draw that secured qualification to the knockout stages and knocked Barcelona out of the competition.
The atmosphere carried the weight of the occasion, but also the growing belief around the team.
This painting focuses on the iconic moment after Dom Matteo’s goal, with the players gathered together in celebration. The image has lived on far beyond the match itself, becoming part of the club’s history and still sung about by fans now.
The work explores that feeling of unity and release that follows a goal of real significance. Relief, pride, disbelief and connection all meeting in the same instant, against the backdrop of one of football’s most famous stadiums.
This is an original 60cm x 60cm acrylic painting on stretched canvas with a wooden frame, finished with a gloss varnish for depth and protection.
The work is signed and dated on the back of the canvas and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Original artworks may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund, provided the artwork is returned in its original condition and packaging. Proof of purchase is required.

- clear photographic evidence of the damage, including packaging where possible
Once reviewed, a replacement or refund will be arranged where appropriate.
